ABOUT DRUM KIT ART
Drum Kit Art was created by Karen Joy and drew upon inspiration from drummers around the world. Blogging with drummers unleashed a common vision: Drummers want drum kits as unique as their music. Previously the only option was to cover their most prized possession with harmful glue, cheap toxic plastic, and spray paint.
In response to drummers I created a process to transform a drum kit into an eco-friendly 3-dimensional sculptural element. As the viewer circles the kit each angle reveals a new composition. The artwork on each drum works in unison with the others to complete the sculpture.

OPTIONS
There are a variety of options from which to choose. You decide the method used to apply the fine art to your drum kit.
ECO-FRIENDLY DRUM WRAP
I developed a unique proprietary drum wrap composed of environmentally-friendly materials instead of toxic PVC and other plastics. The new drum wrap reacts to the elements in much the same way the wood does in your kit and gives you the freedom to play your drums until the artwork is complete and ready for application. The drum wraps are available exclusively from Karen Joy Studio.
UNFINISHED WOOD
Or you can choose to have the artwork painted directly on the unfinished wood. The beauty of the wood is retained and revealed beneath the layer of paint.
Lastly, the drum kit is varnished to ensure the permanence throughout the life of the kit. All the materials utilized in the creation of your artwork have withstood the test of time for hundreds of years.
PRICING STRUCTURE
Currently drum kit art is designed for art collectors who wish to add the work of Karen Joy to their existing collection or for novice collectors who wish to begin collecting fine art. Future plans include the addition of less expensive limited edition signed prints for drum kit application.

• Drum size and configuration
• Time constraints
• Amount of work required to remove PVC drum wraps and prepare drum shell to accept paint or proprietary drum wraps
